Elementalist Equipment for All Occasions
This guide is for all PvE Elementalist that want to use there PvE character in PvP. The items that are listed here are to maximize space, while maintaining flexibility to play any type of ele needed.
Begin with armor.
No if's, and's, or buts about it, go with the +health armor. It is the most benifical and works in all situations. For Head pieces, I have one of each attribute with a superior rune of the corresponding type attached to it. Runes are sup vigor, minor energy storage, minor earth, minor water. I have the minors of earth and water added due to the rare occasion that the group wants me to spec a few points into either for either wards or snares to go along with the primary damage line.
Items
These are the weapons that I suggest that you have. It is design to take less space while still enabling you to play any type of elementalist.
Healing Staff 20/20 halves skill recharge/skill casting with +30 health and +20% enchant mods (for a ether prodigy flagrunner)
+5 energy axe with +30 health mod
wand 20% skill recharge element, +15 energy -1 regen (one each for fire, water, earth, air)
The Windcatcher-green +12 energy req 9 energy storage, +30 health, 10% all skill recharge
Snapjaw's Powerstone/Tarlok's Flagon-green +12 energy req 9 energy storage, +30 health, +15 energy -1 regen
With this setup, you have all the right equipment to play any elementalist that the build or group you are with require. This setup works great for both PvP and PvE, enjoy.

hi wren
this seems like a very helpful guide. i know ive been having a lotta inventory probs myself. one Q though: wouldn't a 40/40 set be more efficient in terms of use? but i guess that is a whole 8 inventory slots.
very helpful man!

The main problem I have with the 40/40 is that it will thorough your timing off when trying to spike. Also with the Windcatcher, that is a 10% chance to all skill recharge, which is good when you are playing a water hexing runner. Another point about the green items is that they are all spec in energy storage, so that these focuses work regardless of the type of elementalist that you are. Plus with the health bonuses added as well, really make this the way to go.
Another thing to remember is that with those same 8 slots, with this set up you have your energy focus switches for every type of elementalist, where by the method you have above would take up at a miminium of 6 more slots to accomplish.

Personally as my main armor I use geomancers, basically because I think it looks the best! I have a headpiece for each element along with the superior rune attached to it. Then for my weapons, well the main thing is I use a offhand piece, one for each elemental type, that gives about 10 energy and has 20% chance of faster casting time and faster recharge. Then my main weapon is just something with as high damage as possible. I found this easier to get because in Henge of Denravi you can buy all those offhand pieces. I didn't know where to get the enchantment mods for two handed staffs. I also use a minor vigor and major energy storage rune on my equipment. equals out to about 400 hps and 85 energy when I'm maxed, so that's pretty good I guess.

Joncoish, the set up I have discribed is for a PvE character to be used in PvP with the minimual amount of equipment needed, but still be equal to if not better than a PvP only character. I'm glad that you like the way that geomancer armor looks, thats great (not being sarcastic either, understand that is important to most PvE only players), but for effectiveness, the +health is better for PvP. Also, in PvP, a superior vigor is a must, the more health you have = the harder you are to spike out and more buffer for your monks can work with.
The point is, if you are going to PvP, no matter if it is RA, TA, AB, HA, or GvG, you owe it to the people that you are playing with to have the best suited equipment that you can. The reason for this is that what you do has a direct impact on your teammates you are playing with as well. TBH, this is why most people are not friendly much in RA since you run into alot of people that are not set up efficiently. Is that saying that everything has to be perfect, no there can be some discreptances but minior ones such as having only a +29 health mode instead of +30, or +19% enchant mod instead of +20% for example. For all practical purposes they are the same as the max item, just cheaper .
With this quide, I just wanted to help people out so that they understand what stuff to bring with them on their character to PvP, to help educate those that did not know.

I realize that the one time you're most likely to be disenchanted is when you're on the wrong end of a spike, but I find it hard to believe that Tempest Armor isn't an excellent choice (+10 AL when enchanted).
